ABOUT US

Beat Yesterday is for those who are committed to the pursuit of their ultimate potential. It doesn’t matter if you can only walk one block or you are competing in ultra marathons, Beat Yesterday is dedicated to those striving to become the best version of themselves possible.

I heard in my early twenties that nothing in nature is stagnant. Things are either growing or decaying. Take a tomato for example. Once a tomato is ripe, it immediately starts to decay. What I took from this in my 20’s was that I always want to be growing and never want to be a ripe tomato!

I wrote my first book called The Last At-Bat a couple of years ago and found myself writing “Beat Yesterday!” when I was signing a book for someone. I realized that this is a great personal mantra and really sums up my personal philosophy.

I have also struggled with purpose and if I am on track for what I am supposed to be doing on this planet. I realized that the Beat Yesterday philosophy helped me with this. I believe that if you are constantly improving your health, relationships, finances, mental abilities, you are living out your “purpose.” If you can become better than yesterday in these areas, you will become a better member of your family. This makes your neighborhood or community better, which makes your town and state better. We can each make a difference. I realized that Beat Yesterday and reaching my ultimate potential is a great way for all of us to live out our “purpose.”

Working with my daughter Lexi was an obvious choice for me. We have both always enjoyed working out and pushing ourselves physically. We would go for runs together as Lexi was growing up and a couple of years ago, we completed our first half marathon together. It was a goal we had for quite some time, and it was awesome to accomplish it together. She lives and breathes the Beat Yesterday philosophy, usually done with her second workout before most people get out of bed. I look forward to the many more fitness goals we will push each other to achieve.

Lastly, Lexi and I see the huge negative impact that people have by comparing themselves to others on social media every single day. We can both admit we are guilty of this ourselves. If we can stop comparing and work on becoming the best we can be, I feel we will have a huge impact on minimizing some of the negative consequences of social media.

Our goal is simple, Beat Yesterday. We hope that we can be your inspiration to do the same.
